Thousands of Layoffs in the Months To Come – Are you positioned as a leader to help these people?

This video brings attention to the fact that thousands of layoffs are occuring from major companies in the months to come. These people being laid off are going to be flocking to the internet seeking for a home-based business to replace their income.

Are you positioned to help these people? If so, good for you. If not, then you need to seriously get your ducks in a row. You need to be established on the internet with your own web presence. You need to have a marketing system in place as well as marketing strategies that work.

Social networking is by far is the easiest and most effective way to drive free traffic to your business.

But how you say? Well, by doing what it was clearly created for by being ’social’. The goal is to build trust and relationships with the people on your friends list. 

Now, before you go off to socialize, make sure a few things are in place on your profile or else you could be wasting your time with this traffic generating technique:

1)make sure you have a profile photo
2)add additional photos of yourself in the photo gallery. Shots of you having fun is a plus.
3)make sure you’ve written something in your about me section. Basically, you want to cover why you made this profile, where you are from, what’s your problem, how you solved it and a call to action. Also, who you want to meet.
4)make sure you have your websites listed and other contact info.

Once you establish your profile, now it’s time to be social. So what do you do?

1)leave nice comments on people’s profile (no spamming)
2)post bullentins to valuable information (no spamming)
3)join groups relevant to your industry and leave comments and participate in topics by giving free valuable information. (no spamming)
4)blog valuable info on your profile
5)make sure to say ‘happy birthday’ to friends on your list
6)search for like-minded members and send friend requests. immediately say thanks when they add you.

That’s just a brief description of what you should do on social networking websites.  Basically, do your best to build relationships and trust in people and you will find people seeking you out to learn more about you which in turn will generate into a lead.

Unless you have been hiding under a rock you have probably heard about Twitter… In fact if you haven’t heard about Twitter, then that rock you’ve been living under has got to be on a remote desert island without an Internet connection or any human contact whatsoever.

But here’s something that may be new to you. Twitter is not just the latest novelty “stay in touch with friends” gizmo – It’s actually a very powerful tool for effortlessly generating more traffic to your blog.

I have been using Twitter to drive traffic to my blogs for quite some time and it works like a charm. You simply post a “tweet” when you have updated your blog, and all you friends, followers and admirerers will be instantly notified… *bang* that’s instant traffic back to your blog. And even better, people can reply to your tweet, their followers can see their reply… and before you know it you have a viral stream of traffic back to your blog.

Nice right? But there are a few problems…

• Don’t know about you, but we tend to forget to post at Twitter
• You won’t get a lot of traffic unless you have a lot of people following you at Twitter
• I’m a marketer and quite fankly I don’t like to do stuff that’s isn’t paying me for my efforts

This tutorial video demonstrates how to create a picture slideshow with background music using windows movie maker.

Steps:
1. Give your project a name. File > Save As
2. Next import your pictures. On the left hand side of screen look for Import, then choose Pictures.
3. After you import pictures, drag each picture down to the storyboard located at bottom of the application.
4. Next import your music. On the left hand side of screen look for Import, then choose Audio or Music.
5. After you import music, switch your project from storyboard view to timeline view.
6. Next, drag your music file down to the Audio/Music section.
7. Then adjust your pictures or music file to get the right length.
8. Now save your project. File > Save
9. You can now preview your slideshow project by going to video player on the right side.
10. After you are satisfied with your slideshow, you can publish as a movie! File > Publish.

This tutorial demonstrates how to follow people on Twitter for developing connections for your personal or professional gains.  

Steps:
1. Log into your Twitter account
2. Scroll to the bottom of page and look for Search.
3. Enter a specific keyword targeting the type of people you are seeking. For example: hiker or golfer or internet marketer. Then click Search.
4. Click on the profile photo of the person you wish to follow.
5. Click Follow to start following updates for this person.
6. You will receive a confirmation.
7. (Optional) If you wish to receive this persons updates by mobile phone, click Device Updates. Then choose On.
Note: You will need to have your mobile phone set up to receive updates. Click on Settings at top of page to set up your device.
